Closed down permanently since March 2021.
Situated on north facing slopes, the property is 220 metres above sea level and 160 km from the Indian Ocean. Jan and Merv Hart aquired the property and planted the first vineyard in 1995. After 16 years, Jan and Merv have retired and converted the estate into self-catering accomodation.
I was personally very sad to see the loss of 'FHE' as it was a great cellar door location and produced some very nice and interesting wines, my favourite being their Grenache Shiraz Touriga blend.
