Learn About WA's Wine Zones - Find Hidden Gems

The whole of Western Australia's land area is divided into the following five wine Zones. For further explanation, see Wine Areas

WA Zone 1

Central Western Australia

WA Zone 1

The only entirely inland zone, which runs down the central area of southwestern WA. It has partial overlap with some WA wine regions.

WA Zone 2

Eastern Plains, Inland & North of Western Australia

WA Zone 2

The zone covers by far the largest area of WA and runs down the whole eastern border of the state. It does not significantly contain any WA wine regions.

WA Zone 3

Greater Perth

WA Zone 3

The more northerly of two zones significantly containing WA wine regions; those being Peel, Perth Hills and Swan District.

WA Zone 4

South West Australia

WA Zone 4

The more southerly of the only two zones significantly containing WA wine regions; those being Blackwood Valley, Geographe, Great Southern, Manjimup, Margaret River and Pemberton.

WA Zone 5

West Australian South East Coastal

WA Zone 5

This is the only entirely south coastal zone in WA. It has a some overlap with the eastern part of WA's Southern Region.
